A new Gender Equality Place named Elena Arnedo Soriano has started off in Madrid City (Retiro neighbourhood) and it is managed by Tangente Cooperative Group. It is a public and free service with the aim of putting in place Madrid Council’s Equality Strategic. Its main goal is to promote gender equality.

This project has three lines of action: awareness, promotion of empowerment and prevention of gender violence. In addition, Tangente professionals offer psychology attention, legal advice and personal development.

Elena Arnedo Soriano (1941-2015) was ginecology doctor, writer, politic and activist woman, who fought to get women rights. She was the first woman in Spain talking about women sexual rigths.
